Our Promise

Travel Managers

With Irma doing most of the work on the site, you will find that you, the customer, will be mostly dealing with Irma direct. However we do have other experienced Outback Travel Shop Travel Managers on stand by, if 24 hours in a day are not enough to get all the travel advice and bookings processed. And of course we do have Mr. Spud, the best company mascot in the world, laying next to Irma's desk at all times assisting her by making lovely soothing snoring sounds to keep the calm and collected atmosphere happening, to create the best travel advice and the best travel bookings!

Irma

Position:

Multi Lingual Travel Manager (English, Dutch, Spanish, French and German)

Favourite Place in the Australian & New Zealand Outback:

The more remote areas like the Kimberleys and Cape York with their unspoiled nature and their Aboriginal culture. And of course the West Coast and Red Centre of Australia. However ask me anything about Australia or New Zealand, as during my 17 years of living in Australia, there are not many places I have not been.

Most Memorable Moment Travelling Australia:

The experience of living in the bush on the 5 day tour to Ayers Rock. Sleeping under the starts, cooking in the open fires, crossing the beautiful Red Centre and learning about bush survival and Aboriginal culture. And the 24 days tour from Perth to Darwin, for which I was lucky enough to get time off work for! We saw so much beautiful nature and the coast is at so many places still so unspoiled! Image waking up from a night under the millions of stars and having a shower under a waterfall (obviously no soap) - Just Amazing!

Best Piece of Travel Advice:

Make sure you are prepared. The country is big and the nature is harsh. Ask us for advice.

Spud

Position:

Company Mascot

(Mr. Spud has been with the company from the very first beginnings and is at the moment a little greyer around the snout than this picture shows. The picture shows Spud in his younger years on Scarborough Beach in Perth on one of his walks whilst being on a business trip to Outback Travel Shop Perth on William Street)

Favourite Place in the Australian Outback:

Redbank Waterhole at Owen Springs near Alice Springs where I live! I just love to swim and find the biggest sticks I can find.

Most Memorable Moment Travelling Australia:

Swimming at Scarborough Beach in Perth! And Kangaroo Island in South Australia! And the snow in the Alps in Victoria! And ... my gosh ... Everywhere around Australia really ... and I have been to a few places! Who would have know that I would be so lucky to travel so much when I was born in a community close to Alice Springs!

Best Piece of Travel Advice:

When you plan to travel in Australia, make sure you get in contact with the Outback Travel Shop for your travel advice and your travel bookings, because in my experience Irma is a caring person who has always gotten me what I want ...!
