Day
One- Darwin - Kakadu
Travel via Adelaide River and the Marrakai Plains deep into Kakadu National
Park. Take a guided walk to view Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock. After
lunch join the famous Yellow Water Billabong cruise to observe saltwater crocodiles
and prolific birdlife. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
Day Two-
Arnhem
Land by 4WD
Early start this morning by 4WD vehicle into Arnhem Land and the Mikinj Valley.
We travel through spectacular scenery including sandstone outcrops, escarpments,
forests, floodplains and billabongs. Hear of traditional land ownership, learn
of bush skills, hunting, food gathering and preparation of bushtucker. View
Aboriginal rock art in its natural state - no fences or barriers. Most tours
are accompanied by an Aboriginal Guide.
Day
Three- Kakadu
- Darwin
There is time this morning to take an optional scenic flight. Cruise along
the East Alligator River. We generally have an Aboriginal Guide with us and
with the special permission of the local people, we will be able to go ashore
in Arnhem Land. Continue to Ubirr where the rock paintings are believed to
be 20,000 years old. Inspect the Bowali Visitors Centre before returning to
Darwin, arriving at approximately 7.30pm.
Wet Season Alternative
During the months November to May access to Ubirr and East Alligator River
is not always possible. Day 1 touring is the same. See the following for alternative
touring on Days 2 & 3. Same fare applies.
Day Two-
Kakadu
by 4WD
Travel by 4WD into some of the most picturesque and seldom visited area of
Kakadu National Park, where only limited vehicle access is permitted. You
will have the opportunity to learn about local Aboriginal customs and traditions,
discover bush tucker unique to this region and view some of the most spectacular
wetlands that the Top End has to offer.
Day
Three- Kakadu
- Darwin
Travel by coach to Magela creek and board your cruise across the Magela paperbark
wetlands to Ubirr Rock. Here you will experience the fantastic sights of the
Kakadu floodplains in their wet season glory. There is ample time to view
the ancient rock art of Ubirr before travelling back to Jabiru for lunch.
This afternoon you will be able to do a spectacular scenic flight (optional).
Visit the Bowali Visitors Centre before returning back to Darwin.

Please note: During some weeks of November, December, April and May, weather
conditions may preclude access to Ubirr. A unique day of alternative touring
