Day One- Darwin - Katherine
Leaving Darwin we travel south via World War II airstrips to Adelaide River,
where we visit the Adelaide River War Cemetery. Continue to Edith Falls where
you have time for a refreshing swim. Travel to Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk
National Park. After lunch join a scenic two hour cruise where you have the
opportunity to see wildlife including freshwater crocodiles and prolific birdlife.
Our tour of the first two gorges takes us past sheer rock walls and requires
a short walk to reach the second gorge. After our cruise we travel to the
Katherine township.

Day Two-
Mataranka
This morning journey to Mataranka “Land of the Never Never”. Visit
the unique rammed earth constructed Territory Manor and watch Barramundi (fish)
being fed. On arrival at Mataranka Homestead, we take time to visit the replica
of the original Elsey Homestead. You have time to swim in the famous thermal
pools before enjoying lunch. On your return to Katherine you will have two
hours to explore the township before an evening stop is made at Adelaide River
where you may purchase dinner. You may like to sample the famous “Barramundi
and chips” (own expense) before returning to Darwin.
