Ayers Rock 5 Day
4WD Camping Safari
If you do have a bit of time to spare on your visit to Australia's Red Centre we strongly recommend our 5 day 4WD Camping Safari. The extra time allows visitors to experience the highlights of the Western MacDonnell ranges, such as Palm Valley, and not so often visited places like Mt. Connor, which because it is on private property cannot normally be accessed.

Day One
Your adventure through the Red Centre begins with the striking scenery of
the Western MacDonnell Ranges. We take you through the unique rock formations
and the beauty of Ellery Creek Big Hole, Glen Helen Gorge, and a hike around
the spectacular Ormiston Gorge. We travel through Tylers Pass via Gosse Bluff,
a crater some believe is 130 million years old, to Hermannsburg Aboriginal
Community. The track of the ancient Finke River takes us to the home of Albert
Namitjira, the famous Aboriginal painter near Hermannsburg, where we set up
our overnight bush camp
Day Two
In the morning, we explore Palm Valley including Cycad Gorge. In this beautiful
national park, you will see one of the rarest trees in the world, the tropical
palm Livistonia Mariae. We then head towards Kings Canyon along the Mereenie
Track. A relaxing afternoon before enjoying camp oven cooking and settling
down for the night.
Day Three
Climb and explore the spectacular formation of Kings Canyon, viewing the "Amphitheatre",
"The Lost City", the picturesque "Garden of Eden" and the breathtaking North
and South Walls. Moving on to Curtin Springs Cattle Station (4162 Sq. km)
to meet some locals before heading to the base of Mt. Connor, and then on
to your bush camp.
Day Four
In the morning we visit the mysterious Olgas (Kata Tjuta) and the Valley of
the Winds, before heading to our campsite for lunch. After lunch, visit the
Cultural Centre before venturing to Ayers Rock to view the spectacular sunset
and settle down for the night.
Day Five
Up bright and early for the optional sunrise climb of Ayers Rock which is
followed by a base tour exploring its mysterious rock formations and Aboriginal
art sites. Returning to the campground, you are treated to lunch (Safari ends
